The client approached A Squared for its knowledge of vessels, vessel survey and naval architecture. They had shortlisted several vessels for a major back deck spread requiring a road-transportable, re-useable grillage. As vessel information and drawings are not always fully accurate, A Squared visited the selected vessel to validate the information.
A Squared assessed the available vessels, made a final recommendation and produced a preliminary deck layout, then surveyed the vessel in Norway to identify key differences in layout, structure and power availability. On return to the UK, A Squared designed a re-useable, road-transportable grillage that can be sea fastened to multiple vessels.
A Squared saved the client time and money by identifying key issues during the survey that would otherwise not have been spotted, delivering a compliant design that gave their operations flexibility.
